Meet Mike Stahlman

Mike Stahlman
Founder & Lead Instructor
Michael Lee Stahlman is the founder and lead instructor of Queen City Scuba, a scuba training company based in Cincinnati, Ohio focused on helping people safely learn to dive and explore the underwater world.
Originally from Warren, Ohio, Michael began scuba diving in 2007 while attending Hocking College near Athens, Ohio. What started as a college pursuit quickly became a lifelong passion for diving, education, and adventure.
As a Master Scuba Diver Trainer, Michael has spent years teaching scuba diving and developing new divers through professional instruction and hands-on training. His experience teaching scuba ranges from beginner programs and Discover Scuba experiences to full scuba certification courses.
From 2010 to 2016, Michael traveled extensively while working in demanding environments that combined diving with emergency medical support. He served as an EMT-Basic, Wilderness EMT, and a U.S. Coast Guard Medical Care Person in Charge, experience that brings a strong emphasis on safety, preparedness, and leadership to every scuba course he teaches.
After years of travel, Michael moved to Cincinnati, Ohio with his wife to be closer to family. There he founded Queen City Scuba to provide professional scuba instruction, scuba lessons, and diver training for people throughout Cincinnati and the surrounding region.
Michael regularly introduces divers to some of the Midwest’s best freshwater dive sites, including Gilboa Quarry near Findlay, Ohio, one of the most popular freshwater diving destinations in the tri-state area.
Through Queen City Scuba, Michael is dedicated to helping people in the Cincinnati area discover scuba diving, build confidence in the water, and become part of a growing local diving community.
